Overview
Dual UR5e is a composed bimanual manipulation platform built from two Universal Robots UR5e cobot arms mounted side by side. The UR5e is a mature, industrially-hardened 6-DoF collaborative arm with a 5 kg payload, 850 mm reach, and ±0.03 mm repeatability, backed by first-class software support including the RTDE (Real-Time Data Exchange) interface and official ROS / ROS 2 drivers. As a composition (2x UR5e) rather than an off-the-shelf dual product, it is assembled by research and industrial labs for applied learning, tactile and force experiments, and dual-arm manipulation research where reliability and long duty cycles matter more than low cost.
Highlights
- Composed dual: 2x Universal Robots UR5e 6-DoF collaborative arms, dual-mounted (not a vendor-sold bimanual SKU)
- Each UR5e: 850 mm reach, 5 kg payload, +/-0.03 mm repeatability
- Rugged industrial duty cycle with RTDE real-time control interface
- Official ROS / ROS 2 drivers (ur_robot_driver) and URDF available
- Approx cost $70,000+ for the dual configuration
- Recognized industrial research configuration for applied/industrial learning and tactile/force experiments
