Overview
The WowRobo TwinArm is a professionally fabricated version of the open-source LeRobot Koch v1.1 leader-follower design. It preserves the original open hardware spec while upgrading build quality, mechanical stiffness, and gripper design (a combined soft + hard material gripper for better object adaptability). The base package contains a single leader-follower pair: a hand-guided 6-DoF leader arm and a 6-DoF follower arm, driven by 12 DYNAMIXEL servos via included driver boards and a 12V-to-5V step-down module, controlled from an external host PC over USB-C. It is offered with or without a 2MP wrist/scene camera. Because the base kit is one leader-follower pair, a true two-follower bimanual manipulation cell is assembled from two kits. It is aimed at robotics education, low-cost demonstration/data collection, imitation learning, and teleoperation research using the Hugging Face LeRobot framework.
Highlights
- Commercialized, professionally fabricated build of the open-source LeRobot Koch v1.1 leader-follower design (Hugging Face)
- Base kit = one 6-DoF leader arm + one 6-DoF follower arm (12 DYNAMIXEL servos); a two-follower bimanual cell requires two kits
- Native LeRobot ecosystem compatibility for teleoperation and imitation learning
- Soft-and-hard-material gripper for improved grasp adaptability
- Low-cost: approx. $580–$630 USD; offered with or without a 2MP camera
- Also resold via OpenELAB and eBay listings
